Certas Energy
The client: Certas is the largest independent distributor of fuel and lubricants in the UK, delivering over 6 billion litres of oil to customers across Britain every year.
The challenge: The fuel giant needed a company with proven maintenance credentials to carry out planned and preventative maintenance and test inspections - responding to and identifying any issues, faults, and potential hazards at around 130 Certas depots across the UK.
The solution: We appointed expert teams and team leaders, all with recognised qualifications to work in the petroleum industry and potentially hazardous and explosive atmospheres, alongside a dedicated member of our maintenance admin team to manage and coordinate all work. We established a portal that mirrored their internal systems to log faults and report issues easily and effectively. And organised a calendar of twice yearly maintenance inspections at every site. This allows us to organise and flag which jobs are urgent requiring a call out and those that can be carried out during routine visits thereby delivering huge cost savings to Certas.
The benefits we bring: Our effective process and management systems have reduced unnecessary call-out fees and our cost to Certas is decreasing year on year. By introducing proper processes and job sheets we’re able to complete more work during each visit delivering minimal disruption to each site. During our visits we also carry out inspections and identify any potential issues or future jobs which can be completed either there and then or during a future planned visit. Our network of trusted, reliable contractors means we’re able to respond swiftly to even the most remote sites across Scotland.
