This project involved the construction of a dedicated area to house the sprinkler system infrastructure for the Tetrosyl factory, including the installation of a pump house base and multiple sprinkler tank bases. Ground preparation works were carried out through deep excavations and ground stabilisation, followed by piling to provide the necessary load-bearing capacity for the bases. New access roads were created to facilitate entry to the site, and reinforced concrete pads were installed to support the tanks and allow for the installation of pipework connecting the water supply from the tanks to the factory. The completed works have provided a robust, accessible, and secure foundation for the factory’s fire protection system.
During the course of the works, excavations were carried out resulting in the discovery of a culvert pipe. Following investigation and confirmation that it was no longer in use, it was safely removed and disposed of. In addition, the ground preparation phase revealed numerous underground obstructions that had to be broken out and removed to enable successful piling operations.
