Official Opening of the Lloyd Newcombe Centre

With our time on site nearly coming to an end, it was great to see everyone come together to celebrate the opening and have the chance to look around the new Post-16 facility we have been working to create over the past few months.

The centre has been named in memory of Lloyd Newcombe, a much-loved pupil at Alt Bridge School who sadly passed away earlier this year. During the opening, we were treated to a fantastic performance from the Alt Bridge School Choir, including a beautiful rendition of Lloyd’s Song performed by his friends.

It has been a privilege to work on this project and continue our great working relationship with Alt Bridge school as well as getting to know some of their students along the way. Earlier in the project, our team also had the opportunity to give pupils a hands-on introduction to some practical construction skills, something we really enjoyed being part of.

Following the opening, Head Teacher Natalie Menagh said:
“Sterling Services has been amazing too, enabling our pupils to learn about and try practical construction skills in a building they will use on a daily basis.”

We still have a few final finishing touches to complete before we officially wrap things up on site, but we are looking forward to heading back in a couple of weeks when the last of the construction work is finished and the final clean is complete. We can’t wait to share the finished project with you then. A big thank you to everyone at Alt Bridge School for inviting us along and allowing us to be part of the celebrations.
